The Graland Annual Fund supports curricular enhancements, teacher resources, financial aid and student trips, to name just a few areas where your donations make a difference each year. As always, we are inspired when our school community supports this important effort and directly impacts the school’s operating budget.
In the spirit of community building, we celebrate high participation levels as well as funds and pledges. A broad base of participation does more than just raise money, it shows that our community is solidly behind the school’s mission, and we believe every gift of every size makes a difference in ensuring every child can reach their full potential.
“We have had 100% participation from our faculty and staff annually,” says Kelly Eisinger, 2017-19 co-chair of the annual fund. “The teachers in our classrooms care enough to give back. As a parent, I want to show them the same dedication to our community.”
One of the goals each year is to educate our community about the key role of the annual fund so that our families understand where their money is used and why the annual fund campaign is so important.
“I learned about the annual fund and how it fits into the school’s financial framework, the resources it takes to make Graland the institution it is for our children, and the school’s approach to the responsible stewardship of the funds raised,” says Anne Benedict. “I’ve found that my involvement with the school has translated into feeling more connected to my child’s experience at Graland, which is the ultimate benefit. ”
Others feel that supporting Graland, a place that impacts their family in many positive ways, is just the right thing to do. “Helping others feels good,” says Aaron Burgamy ‘89, 2018-19 co-chair of the annual fund. “I can’t remember most of what I bought last year, but I can name every organization where I either volunteered time or money last year. Giving is a memorable experience.”
